3 Actors + 1 Comedian down with swine flu

The swine flu is back and attacking our Korean entertainers, again!

Our High Kick Through the Roof star, Hwang Jung Eum, was taken straight to the hospital during the filming of an episode due to her swine flu diagnosis. Following suit, her two co-stars Daniel Choi and Yoon Si Yoon went to the hospital as well to get tested for the virus.

Highkick’s PD, Kim Byung Wook, stated, “We were not able to finish filming all of Hwang Jung Eum’s take today (26th). As of right now, we are waiting for a phone call from Hwang Jung Eum’s side. We are going to have to figure out a new schedule together to make things work.

It has been reported that Hwang Jung Eum insisted that she go out to finish filming the episode, but everyone around her has been stopping her for the sake of her health. However, if she is not able to finish the filming, February’s first episode may get delayed.

Aside from our actors, comedian Yoo Sae Yoon has also been diagnosed with swine flu.

Yoo Sae Yoon had been feeling cold-like symptoms starting from the 21st and got checked up and has been diagnosed positive on the 26th.

He has been getting a lot of rest since his diagnosis and has been getting a lot of treatment, and it has been reported that he is showing fast progress. However, although his health may be improving, he will still have to miss out on all the filming for his shows.

A representative stated, “There is an episode filming set for the 27th, but it seems like we are going to have to get another guest, but we are going to have to discuss more about it. As of now, nothing has been decided.

Just when everything seemed calm in 2010, the swine flu comes back into the scene! Hopefully, the virus will stop at this point, instead of going through another crazy chain reaction.

Daesung’s Cotton Candy released

Big Bang’s Daesung has finally released his new single Cotton Candy, and it is being made available for free!

Daesung’s past solo tracks brought much fun and energy but this time the track will be more calm and take upon a whole different style. The song has a soft melody with his husky yet warm vocals that’s sure to capture the audience.

YG Entertainment revealed, “Just this time, we’re releasing the single for 3 days on a free release so that many of the fans can listen to the song and come enjoy it at the Big Bang 2010 Big Show concert.” This is a pretty big deal and a great marketing strategy because Korea’s policy on piracy of music is insanely strict.

Cotton Candy will be out for free via YG Music, Melon, Naver Music, Daum Music, Mnet.com, Soribada and Bugs for 3 days until the 29th.

CNBLUE surpasses 2AM on Monkey3

Is the rookie group CNBLUE going to beat 2AM on the charts? Though it’s been quite a while since 2AM has had a song out, it seems like the music scene isn’t making enough room for them.

The plagiarism issues are definitely not affecting CNBLUE’s music chart success either because song I’m a Loner has succeeded 2AM’s Won’t Let You Go Even If I Die on Monkey3’s Weekly Chart for the third week of January.

I’m a Loner took first place, scoring higher than SeeYa, Davichi and T-ara’s project Wonder Women which came in second place. Third place went to 2AM’s track and fourth place went to 2PM’s Tik Tok.

But now that SNSD is in the picture, who will take the number one spot next week?

Big Bang misses their Korean fans

Big Bang has been MIA in the kpop scene, due to the boys’ album and concert promotions in Japan. However, despite their busy schedules in Japan, Big Bang has not forgotten their beloved VIPs in their mother country of Korea. Recently, the boys revealed some interesting tidbits regarding their Korean fans and activities on UFO Radio.

Question: The word/phrase that Big Bang uses the most.
Seungri: “I miss you like crazy.” We aren’t doing any album promotions in Korea, so we can’t see our fans as much. Thus, we say, “I miss you” a lot … Because we are always moving around, there are times when I feel lonely and tired, and those are the times when I miss our Korean fans the most.

Statement: Your cooking skills must have improved a lot because of Family Outing.
Daesung: Read his response from a previous article!

Daesung: Read his response from a previous article!

Taeyang, who gained even more love with Wedding Dress, stated, “I think it would be awful if I had to play a song for my love’s wedding, like in my song Wedding Dress.”

As a group, Big Bang stated, “We will return to our fans soon as a better Big Bang, so we hope that you fans will be as strong as you guys miss us.”

Kibum speaks up about his absence from Super Junior

The quiet and MIA member of Super Junior, Kim Kibum, revealed his feelings on rumors about him withdrawing from the boy band. In a recent interview, he was asked whether or not it upset him that he couldn’t promote the album with his members. He answered, “I get over my sorrow about not being able to work with my members by acting.”

Kibum debuted as an actor in 2004 and as a singer in 2005 so he’s been an actor longer than he has been a SuJu member. He was active as a member of Super Junior for six years, so when he wasn’t present for promotions of Super Junior’s 3rd album Sorry Sorry, people began to question his status in the group, wondering if the celebrity had withdrawn. It’s been around a year since he’s worked with the members of Super Junior. However, Kibum explained that his absence on stage didn’t mean that he wasn’t a part of Super Junior.

“Because I’m not on stage a lot, people say [that I'm the mysterious member of Super Junior],” Kibum said. “I focus on acting so I may look a bit mysterious.

When asked about what his dream for the future, he said, “I want to be a good person, a perfect person. Of course I want to become a great actor. I look up to Song Kang Ho, Sul Kyung Goo and Choi Min Shik.”

So I guess Kibum does still think about Super Junior often. It’d be nice to see him with the rest of the members on stage pretty soon. The only thing that bothers me is that all the members have their solo activities but Kibum is the only one that is unable to make compromises.

SNSD’s Tiffany racks up another injury

It’s been reported that SNSD’s Tiffany recently fell and sprained her left wrist during filming for the fitness battle of Let’s Go Dream Team. She was taken to the hospital immediately to receive care. Luckily, Tiffany’s injury is far from serious, and the girl is already pretty far down the road to recovery; there is no indication that Tiffany’s schedule will be hindered in any way.

This isn’t the first time that this clumsy dork has fallen and injured herself; during Gee promotions around a year ago, Tiffany injured her ankle by falling down a set of stairs at an award ceremony.

The idol was seen with a cast during filming for Star King recently, sparking the attention of netizens.

SNSD hasn’t even returned to the stage yet, but the girls have already been bogged down with two unfortunate events – this injury and the whole Rihanna issue. Good luck to Tiffany & the rest of SNSD, we look forward to your upcoming performances!

After School has received much love for Because of You, and the girls are back for yet another performance of their new remix on SBS Inkigayo. The girls triumphed this evening, walking away with a Mutizen… congrats!

The girls wore matching red and black outfits, and it seems like the fan chants are getting louder with each performance, check it out here:

Check out the teary award acceptance and encore:

With this track, the girls aimed to stray from their sexy concept and show their more vulnerable side, but this performance is quite powerful. I don’t think I’ll get tired of this track any time soon, how about you?

HyunA is fierce on Inkigayo!

It’s already been 3 weeks since HyunA began her promotions for Change, but this song still hasn’t gotten old! Maybe it’s the pelvic-thrust that she’s working, but I think it’s about time this girl got an award. I mean, not only has she been reeling in a massive amount of new fans, both male and female, but she’s also been the talk amongst other celebrities.

With her growing popularity, sexy pelvic thrusts dance moves and catchy song, I think HyunA has proven herself more than enough as a singer and entertainer. Honestly, this dancing diva was born to be in the limelight!

A couple of days ago, 2AM performed their comeback stage with Won’t let you go even if I die for the first time on Music Bank. A few hours after their performance, their title-song’s full music video was released.

Although 2AM could not perform on yesterday’s Music Core, they were able to perform on today’s Inkigayo! Following a short Intro, 2AM performed their comeback stage outstandingly with Won’t let you go even if I die. Check out the performance below!

CNBLUE’s amazing live performance on Inkigayo

CNBLUE is back on Inkigayo with their hit song, “I’m a Loner.”

Despite the ongoing plagiarism issues, CNBLUE’s popularity still seems to be going nowhere but up! With their fanbase at 13,000 just a couple days ago, I say it’s safe to say that CNBLUE is one of the biggest hits of the new year.

Honestly, their large fanbase is pretty impressive for a group who just debuted and I’m not surprised at all. Not only does this rookie group have the looks, but they have the musical talent as well.

CNBLUE has not failed me with their live performances and they have proven that the plagiarism issues cannot stop them from being 2010’s super rookies!

Fans can always count on the seven sexy members of Rainbow to add some color to their day!

The ladies have since moved passed their Gossip Girl promotions and began working on Not Your Girl. The song is an upgrade from their debut track and their outfits and dancing are quite a combo. Ynot speaks on CNBLUE’s plagiarism allegations

Yesterday, CNBLUE’s agency FNC Music, stated that the plagiarism allegations that CNBLUE’s “I’m a loner” is similar to Ynot’sBlue bird,” were “unbelievable.”

Today, indie band Ynot spoke up on the issue, in a tone and manner that was drastically different from FNC Music’s response:

“The plagiarism issues are the fault of the composers, Kim Do Hoon and Lee Sang Ho. We hope CNBLUE does not get scarred for this issue. This issue is between us (Ynot) and the composers of ‘I’m a loner’, in no way is it an issue between us and CNBLUE.”

Ynot added:

“We expect and look forward to a long career for CNBLUE, who is talented and has the ability to play instruments, compose and write songs. We hope this incident does not hinder their activities and we hope it does not scar them at all.”

However, Ynot stated in regards to the plagiarism allegations:

“If the issues are not settled rationally and appropriately, we are considering taking the properly legal actions.”

In response to FNC Music implying that Ynot just wanted “noise marketing,” that they will request monetary compensation for the damages (to CNBLUE’s image) and their statement that “if they (FNC Music) were going to plagiarize, they would’ve chosen a better foreign song,” Ynot stated:

“We have been doing this for 13 years, putting on performances and standing by our name Ynot. It is greatly insulting to not only us, but the entire indie scene for them to state such things. I am now concerned for our bands (Ynot) honor and reputation because of the statements from FNC Music.”

Keep in mind, Ynot did not bring up the plagiarism allegations, it was netizens who pointed out the similarities. Later on when the media asked Ynot what they thought, Ynot had stated that it seems unlikely that it’s a coincidence.

Now I’m not taking sides, but Ynot makes some good points and they have taken the high road in regards to their response. A far different approach than FNC Music’s extremely defensive and offensive statements yesterday.

You guys be the judge, what do you all think about this controversy?

4minute touches base in Taiwan

As we reported earlier, Cube Entertainment artists 4minute and BEAST recently touched base in Taiwan as their first international tour with Universal Music, hence HyunA & BEAST’s absences on music shows this week.

After arriving the other day, the 4minute girls appeared on the Taiwanese variety show 100% Entertainment (八大娛樂百分百) for an episode that was broadcast earlier today.

Despite the language barrier, the segment flowed well and showed off the girls’ charm. And I’m especially loving their overall look today – all five members have great outfits & pretty hairstyles, especially Jiyoon’s longer hair, which gives her a more feminine touch.

Check out Sohyun & HyunA’s dorky dance moves at 1:30-5!

The segment kicked off with the host Xiao Luo greeting to the girls and fail Engrish request at 0:25 to introduce themselves.

Xiao Luo then asked, “The first stop on this promotional tour is Taiwan. Why pick Taiwan?

Actually, it’s not like we chose Taiwan – Taiwan chose us,” leader Jihyun expressed. “When we heard that there was much interest about 4minute in Taiwan, and when someone invited us to an event, we quickly accepted happily. We’ve always really wanted to come to Taiwan.

After that, the two hosts briefly showed off their 4minute trivia knowledge, performing the girls’ signature Hot Issue brush-back-the-hair-strand move, then asking Jiyoon why she wasn’t wearing sunglasses. “I usually wear sunglasses but I took them off for Taiwan,” the rapper replied with a laugh.

4minute has been doing extremely well on the Taiwanese music market, recently beating Super Junior and SNSD to claim #1 on various charts. So will be seeing more of 4minute in Taiwan after this event? “We think we match Taiwan a lot, so we’d like to come often in the future,” Jihyun answered. Gayoon added, “I have friends in Taiwan so I’ve watched Taiwanese idol dramas [that featured the Xiao Luo] in the past. You’re very handsome. ... My friends sit beside me and translate for me.

BEAST and 4minute will be performing a joint concert on the 23rd, and it has been revealed that the girls will unveil a never-before-heard track at this event.

4minute and BEAST held their first press conference earlier today as well in the CTS Taiwan Lobby. More than 2000 people gathered in front of the building, so the organizers had to reduce the event to 200 people in order to prevent accidents.

Stay tuned to allkpop for 4minute and BEAST’s upcoming concert!

Behind the scenes with 2PM and Yoon Eun Hye for Cass Beer

Remember the commercials for Cass Beer featuring 2PM’s Taecyeon and Nichkhun along with the beautiful Yoon Eun Hye? Well, it seems there’s some more commercials in store for us as 2PM’s Wooyoung and Junsu were recently spotted on the set of an upcoming Cass Beer CF along with the original trio.

MBC’s Section TV
also interviewed the participants of the CF. Unfortunately, the other members of 2PM couldn’t join in on the fun as they’re under the legal age of consuming alcohol.

The best part of the segment below is when Junsu spills beer on Yoon Eun Hye and the 2PM boys have to clean up the mess. Junsu felt bad and apologized in a quiet voice afterwards. Taecyeon also stated that he drinks a lot of beer but Nichkhun responds that he can’t drink a lot. Taecyeon pushes him and Junsu says to stop kidding around. Nichkhun again says that he can’t drink a lot and that he can only drink about 10 bottles. Check out the interview below:

Speaking of exercising, it seems MBLAQ’s Lee Joon loves working out as well.

It seems Lee Joon loves showing off his body. If you can recall, a few weeks ago he showed off his back and his abs a few months before tht seems Lee Joon loves showing off his body. If you can recall, a few weeks ago he showed off his back and his abs a few months before that.

Son Dambi is addicted to “working out” and also reveals plans for a comeback

Sexy diva Son Dambi revealed that the secret to her perfect body line is being addicted to exercise. Earlier this evening, the singer held a Samsung Anycall sponsored fan meeting at Seoul Kangnam’s COEX Conference Hall.

At the fan meeting, the singer stated, “I have an addiction to exercise even when I rest. I think this is why I’m able to maintain my figure,” and added, “My skin also naturally became good as I rested.”

Approximately 2000 fans attended the meeting and enjoyed a 1 hour talk with Son Dambi. She also addressed the fans about her future plans for a comeback in the music scene, “I plan to release an album in April, and I am working hard preparing for it.”

CNBLUE continues to rock on Music Bank!

Despite their recent controversy, CNBLUE appeared hardly affected by the plagiarism accusations for their debut track I’m A Loner on Music Bank.
Even though it’s just their second week since debut, the band has earned an impressive amount of popularity already, as proven from the audible fan screams during tonight’s performance.
Watch CNBLUE rock out on stage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5AuoSaoaaU

Their performance was not as vocally impressive as last week, but it wasn’t that noticeable and still very entertaining to watch nonetheless. They even managed to rank #9 on Music Bank’s K-Chart and it’s only been a week since the song’s release!
Jung Yong Hwa sported a new hairstyle with darker roots. As much as I love Shinwoo, I find his change appropriate as he can now be distinguished as the leader of CNBLUE, instead of the character he played in You’re Beautiful.
The MCs also interviewed the band briefly backstage. Jung Yong Hwa prepared a freestyle rap, but ended up choking. However, the other members were slightly more successful as they flaunted their own talents such as playing the flute and performing a magic trick.
